Wisers Giving Back Launch: Driving social impact in Singapore

Global Wisers Giving Back Program: ItsRainingRaincoats
We’re proud to launch our first event from our Global Wisers Giving Back program with our partner Singapore charity, ItsRainingRaincoats. As a connected company with over 16 million customers worldwide and 17 global office locations, we want to drive positive and inclusive social impact at a community-based level. After all, partnering with organisations that know their community the best is how you have a sustainable social impact.
Wisers Giving Back program focuses on delivering and empowering financial inclusion opportunities in our most vulnerable communities. This program is part of our larger social impact ecosystem, supported by our People Without Borders pillar, aligned with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal 10 – Reduced Inequalities.
We chose ItsRainingRaincoats to partner with due to their deep involvement with the Singaporean migrant community. They aim to integrate migrants into Singapore by providing support via various initiatives such as learning programs, including financial planning and welfare programs, and supporting them through salary and employment concerns.
Founded by Dipa Swaminathan, the charity has won numerous philanthropic awards for its community activism, having worked with over 1500 volunteers to drive integration and inclusion. With this background, It’sRainingRaincoats was a natural fit for the Wiser Giving Back Program.
“Partnerships like we have with Wise are vital to improving the welfare of Singapore’s migrant workers and we need such corporate support to strengthen their social inclusion. We look forward to continuing our partnership,” commented Dipa, the founder.
Wise offers a paid volunteer day to all employees so they can give back to their community. To kick off, over 20 Wisers used their volunteer day to volunteer at ItsRainingRaincoats’ inspIRRE store to be ‘Manager for a Day.’ InspIRRE the first of its kind in Singapore, where migrant workers can shop for items donated by the public for free, ranging from clothes, shoes, sanitisers, backpacks, and more. We organised donations and helped arrange the store in preparation for the weekend, which is the busiest time of the week for the store.
This inaugural volunteer session is just the start of our journey. We’re very excited to continue and deepen this partnership and provide more volunteering opportunities for Wise employees with ItsRainingRaincoats. As a global Fintech, we understand that it is our duty and responsibility to play our part to enact meaningful change. The Wisers Giving Back program is just the beginning when it comes to driving meaningful, systemic, and sustainable social impact.
