We’re looking for a stand-out Senior Partnerships Manager to join our team in London to unlock new partnership opportunities to take our user & FX volume growth to the next level. 

The Affiliates & Partnerships team is one of the larger user acquisition channels within the Performance Marketing tribe. Our vision is to build the best partnerships programme so that any user or business who has a desire to recommend Wise to their audience or network can do so easily, has all the campaign material they need and does so on a sustainable long term basis. 

Historically we’ve had a heavy focus on media content partnerships. We’re now looking to build a separate section of the team focused on unlocking new scalable strategic partnerships. These could be from leveraging business and community networks to adding Wise to customer onboarding flows as a value add service. 

You’ll work closely with product marketing and product teams to understand where Wise has the best product market fit. You’ll be able to assess which opportunities to focus on first based on total addressable market size, partnership landscape, execution timeline and profitability of the partnership. From there you will then build out a plan and pipeline of partnership prospects to close and figure out what the partnership pitch and commercials need to be to appeal to this vertical type. The end goal is to drive user acquisition and FX volume – whether that be through personal or business users. 


The role

The Senior Partnerships Manager will have a deep understanding of the Wise product, our customer use cases and be able to identify the next high impact opportunities and verticals we can target. We’re looking for candidates with experience in driving forward partnerships across personal and business user segments.  

Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Identifying partnership opportunities: Carry out market research and work with product marketing teams to scope, size and evaluate the various customer segment opportunities and be able to identify which areas we should be investing our time in 
  • Measurement: Evaluate and prioritize strategic partnership opportunities by deep diving into our customer data and performance to identify potential opportunities. Be able to establish key performance indicators that will help determine the success of a partnership vertical
    • Growth: Lead and execute on the plan to grow a specific partnership vertical. This will involve figuring out the key prospects we need to close and prioritise, what commercials we can provide to the partner that is also going to be an appealing partnership pitch and what type of campaign we need to set up with the partner ie. is it a simple referral link via a partner email or is it a direct integration into the partner’s customer onboarding flow (if the latter you will work closely with the business development team on this) 
    • Pipeline management: Research, identify, qualify and recruit partners across a range of partnership verticals. Deal cycles may range from a few weeks to longer term strategic play. You will need to be able to prioritise which vertical to focus on first and figure out how we can validate the scalability and feasibility of a partnership vertical as quickly as possible. You will be comfortable navigating various company structures and be able to juggle simultaneous conversations
    • Commercial negotiation: You will keep Wise product economics front of mind and lead on commercial and legal discussions with partners. You will help expand our commercial toolbox of payment models and partner offers we can provide
  • Define partnership infrastructure: Ensure we have the right reporting, tracking and support structure in place to allow a partnership vertical to scale
  • Campaign implementation: You will work alongside the team to implement test campaigns and track initial results
    • Develop partnership playbooks: Create pitch decks and sales marketing materials for partners based on their vertical. These will act as guidelines for others in the team 
    • Stakeholder Management – Manage simultaneous conversations with an array of stakeholders, internal and external, across long and short sales cycle deals. Invest and nurture these relationships to effect influence and create long term value for all parties
    • Product – Collaborate closely with the product teams to share valuable feedback (based on your conversations with prospects) to guide product roadmap and ensure we have the infrastructure set up to support partnerships 
  • Team development – Share your experience in partnerships and coach others in the team. You will build strong relationships with the team and understand their strengths and areas for development. Scope for building out of team once partnership vertical has been proven

You will work closely with the content outreach and account management team to identify new partnership opportunities and share insights and knowledge on requirements of scaling up a proven partnership vertical. 


A bit about you

  • Mid-senior level experience in partnerships/ growth roles
  • Experience in driving forward new partnerships within a business, from identification of a vertical through to scaling this out successfully across markets. Can create a plan, execute and iterate 
  • You are a self-starter and impact-driven: you enjoy taking ownership of projects with limited oversight. You thrive more on autonomy than structure, you’re not afraid to take responsibility and ownership of your work 
  • You are a problem solver and thrive on putting together a plan of execution for testing and growing a new partnership vertical and able to clearly define what success metrics need to look like before scaling out to more markets and prospects 
  • Proven ability to negotiate commercials and contracts and scaling out a new partnership vertical
  • Led a small team and helped grow and develop direct leads and peers. You enjoy coaching and mentoring others and creating a strong team environment  
  • Customer focused and mission driven 
  • Lead all decisions through the use of data and sets strong KPIs for evaluating the success of partnerships in their infancy 
  • Experience working in payments, fintech, tech or accounting preferable

Office: London

Salary: Between £50,000-70,000 per year
