Salary Range

We’re currently looking for a new People Operations Advisor at Wise to join our global People Operations team! You will be based in Brussels, Belgium. Our new People Operations (HR) Advisor will receive a competitive package including a starting salary of 3650€ monthly, Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) in a profitable company, and a wide array of other benefits! 

Your Mission

This is an exciting opportunity to own the overall HR record keeping and compliance, onboarding support, and act as the point of contact for daily inquiries for our Brussels Wisers. Our mission is to assist our leads and teams to deliver a seamless employee operations experience throughout the entire ‘Wiser’ journey for our growing Wiser population in our Brussels office. 🌎

You will also provide input regarding team goals, KPIs, efficiencies, process improvements and future optimization of our People Operations team, as well as participate by providing deliverables of global projects. 

This role reports directly to the People Operations Lead based in Europe.

  • Be the initial point of contact for employee queries and provide timely responses to your fellow Wisers
  • Ensure our HR system and all employee records are up to date and correct
  • Ensure compliance with labour regulations and providing advice on Belgian HR legislation and policy
  • Conduct vendor management with our insurance broker and payroll vendor
  • Coordinate new hire onboarding tasks
  • Communicate new and revised benefit and leave plans
  • Maintain the digital information space (Confluence) for all Brussels-based People Operations and Workplace information so Wisers can obtain relevant info at all times
  • Point of contact for Leads who need guidance on employee relations matters from start to finish (e.g. conflict management, investigation, disciplinary)
  • Provide advice to leaders from other offices, guiding them through Belgium-specific processes, systems, and benefit policies
  • Provide additional support to the wider People team and other leaders with ad-hoc tasks/data queries and project-based work
  • Contribute towards the bi-annual planning cycles by attending review sessions, collating data on team performance, sharing ideas for improvements and new projects, etc
  • You’ll partner with your Lead to recommend new approaches, policy and procedure changes towards continuous improvement within the team

A bit about you

  • Prior HR operational experience of at least 3 years in a fast paced environment is required 
  • Radiant people skills – with huge amounts of personal energy, with the ability to build and maintain great relationships, and happy to be the first point-of-contact for our Wisers
  • Extensive knowledge of Belgian Labour Law and employee relation procedures
  • Fluent in English and French or Dutch, both written and verbal. Other languages are a plus!
  • Strong HRIS knowledge and technical aptitude, such as familiarity with G-suite, and experience with WorkDay and Excel would be a plus

  • Adaptable – you will be as comfortable working with ambiguity as you are with certainly – we need someone who can be agile enough to respond to changing priorities, but be able to hold clear on the long term path ahead
  • Curiosity to learn & grow – we don’t expect an expert in every HR topic at this level, but we do expect you to have a positive, can-do attitude, and a desire to learn and grow the knowledge and experience you already do have
  • Ability to multi-task – you must be able to handle multiple tasks – often at the same time. You’ll also have the ability to start, stop, pick-up, and complete tasks on a recurring basis
