We’re looking for a Regulatory Product Compliance Manager to play a central role in the expansion of our Assets product in the UK and Europe. With Assets, we’re changing how people think about holding money. Our customers can choose to hold their money as “cash”, or hold it as an investment, whilst maintaining access to their invested funds at all time, even being able to pay with their invested balance.

You will be part of the product team based in London to help grow the product across the UK and Europe. In your role, you’ll ensure that Wise is fully compliant with the regulatory criteria to offer investment products to its customers in the UK and Europe.

Launch New Products and Features:

  • Collaborate with Product Teams throughout the product lifecycle: from design and user testing, to launch and post-launch monitoring.
  • Empower Product Teams to take a risk based approach to building products, processes and controls.
  • Collaborate to the build of  practical and customer oriented product solutions while ensuring that the product remains compliant;
  • Identify opportunities to improve our product proposition / competitiveness by thoroughly analysing relevant regulations and challenging existing interpretations and market practice.

Manage and Mitigate Regulatory Risks:

  • Identify and manage Regulatory Risks for the new investment product;
  • Perform pre-launch and ongoing risk assessments, offering effective advice to Product Managers on existing and forthcoming regulations, gaps and risks;
  • Project managing the implementation of risk mitigations and remediations, working with engineers, designers, and Ops teams as necessary
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Compliance Oversight and Regulatory Liaison to ensure Product Teams are aware of new and upcoming regulations.
  • Build strong regulatory analysis and documentation to help  represent the product team and its decisions  to challenges faced from external and internal compliance oversight functions

A bit about you:

  • Problem solving attitude, with the ability to use regulations together with data to drive business decisions;
  • Experience (or interest) in working in a fast-growing technology driven environment;
  • You want to go beyond an advisory role and take initiative and drive projects end to end
  • You want to work with and learn from the different disciplines in a product team to truly integrate and be part of the team
  • Deep working knowledge of the MifID II and/or FSMA
  • Familiar with the evolving regulatory expectations of the FCA with regards to investment firms and ideally even Payment Services / Electronic Money firms;

Nice to have but not essential:

  • You have an understanding of payment systems and the Payment Services Directive 2 (PSD2)
  • You have worked in a startup or scale-up environment in the past.

What we offer in return:

  • Competitive base salary
  • Generous stock options package
  • Lots of awesome Wise benefits

We’re people without borders — without judgement or prejudice, too. We want to work with the best people, no matter their background. So if you’re passionate about learning new things and keen to join our mission, you’ll fit right in.

Also, where and what you studied isn’t important to us. If you’ve got great experience, the right skills for the role and you’re great at articulating your thinking, we’d like to hear from you.
