Salary Range

AUD90K - AUD130K per annum depending on experience and interview outcomes

We’re looking for an energetic and independent Business Development Executive who is passionate about our mission and offering our solution to businesses. 

The Business Sales team is focused on selling our existing product offering to medium to large businesses with a view to help guide further solutions to better match the market demands. You’ll work on qualifying inbound leads by navigating complex business requirements and selling our proposition directly to those businesses. You will be the ‘market owner’ for Wise Business sales and customers in Australia, and will be targeting Australian businesses who are a good fit for one or multiple Wise Business products. A bit about the role:

The role is based in our Sydney office, but you will also work closely with teams based in Wise offices around the world including product, compliance, legal and engineering. The role will be predominantly remote, with the ability to flexibly work with the Wise Australia team in our Sydney office. 

Your mission: 

Sell the Wise business proposition to businesses of all sizes.
You will focus on:

  • Pipeline Management
    Work with our Business Product and Business Development teams to develop and implement an outbound sales strategy, target accounts list and inbound qualification funnel to sell the best businesses the most relevant Wise solutions. You will own the pipeline of business sales in Australia, with a view to optimising and scaling sales output and customer experience in Australia by working closely with our Business Product and Business Development teams
  • Analysis/Qualification – Demonstrate judgement to qualify and scope/size the opportunities, supported in a data-driven way, whilst identifying where the highest return on investment comes from and deciding how and where to spend your time.
  • Technical – Ability to pick up different technical solutions and tools along the way. For example the Wise API offering and our CRM, Salesforce.
    This also includes knowledge needed to understand the Wise product offering (batch payments, API, approvals, multi-user access) and solutions (treasury, payouts, receiving money).
  • Soft skills – Effectively communicate our value proposition after identifying the business needs.
  • Stakeholder Management – Manage simultaneous conversations with an array of stakeholders, internal and external, across medium and short sales cycle deals. Invest and nurture these relationships to influence and create long term value for all parties.
  • Product – Collaborate closely with our product teams to share valuable feedback (based on your conversations with prospects) to guide product roadmap and improve end customer experience.

  • You can come up with a plan, execute it whilst not being afraid to iterate as you learn…to put it simply, you get things done!
  • You’re product-minded, and are always looking for ways to improve or scale your work including creating new processes. 
  • You love a good challenge, and have the ambition and drive to manage multiple deals in a high-pressure, fast moving environment.
  • You’re excellent at communicating to people, both talking and listening, and can explain difficult concepts in simple terms.
  • You’re logical, and see connecting data as a crucial part of decision-making, but are not afraid to voice your instinct.
  • You are customer-focused. At Wise, they always come first, so you need to be enthusiastic about helping our customers and delivering on our mission.

Some extra skills that would be awesome

  • Be familiar with ins and outs of the Wise business product
  • Previous experience working in a start-up environment 
  • Previous sales experience
