The Risk Specialist within our Group Risk Governance team will help with the implementation and ongoing management of how we manage risk at Wise.. The role sits in the second line of defence and reports to the Group Risk Governance Lead based in our London office.
This role will be responsible for managing and supporting our Risk Assessments within a centralised Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) tool by acting as the main point of contact both internally and externally.They will provide operational and back-end support including the production of dashboards, incident reporting, and control oversight.
Your Mission:
- Supporting the analysis, validation, and completion of Risk Assessments within the centralised Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) Tool.
- Be the main point of contact for our GRC Tool by providing operational and back end support of Wise’s GRC Tool, including the production of Dashboards, Incident Reporting and Control Oversight and assisting risk/control owners in correctly utilising the tool
- Help our teams manage and report on key Risk measures across the Group, as well as ensuring our Risk Register remains accurate and up to date to enable risk informed decision making and regulatory compliance.
- Ensuring that there is appropriate review, update and approval of policies owned by Risk Management (2LOD) and risk management frameworks ensuring these continue to meet business, stakeholder and regulatory expectations.
- Helping to draft policies where gaps are identified, socialising as appropriate internally and seeing through to committee approval and implementation
- Managing the risk taxonomy reviews and the framework for risk and control self assessment, regional assessments, and internal controls testing performed by 1st and 2nd LoDs.
- Monitoring the output of internal audit and 2nd LOD oversight functions and coordinating any inputs needed from Group Risk in the matters or issue/incident remediation plans that impact standing risk exposures.
A bit about you:
- Comfortable working with SQL, Python (e.g. Airflow, ETLs), data design (e.g. Snowflake, Looker) and statistics (e.g. A/B testing, forecasting)
- Comfortable working across the Operational Risk Taxonomy, Operational Risk Framework & Risk and Control Self-Assessments.
- Experience with GRC Tooling and other technological means to measure risk positions and provide actionable risk analysis reporting to senior leadership
- You’re a self-starter who is comfortable working autonomously and with teams located across our offices.
- You can take complex, fuzzy problems and take people on a journey, from understanding the underlying dynamics to rationalising a solution.
- Experience with GRC Tooling and other technological means to measure risk positions and provide actionable risk analysis reporting to senior leadership
- Good understanding of systems, management information, and reporting systems.
