IT Support Technician

We are looking for an experienced IT Support Technician to join our growing User Technology (UT) Support Team in our Austin, Texas office! 🚀 Our mission is to support everyone in Wise through ensuring we’re offering the best equipment, keeping it safe and running in peak condition. A bit about the role:

Here at Wise we’re working to create a seamless UT experience by offering all the tools and permissions people need to do the best work they can, and simultaneously avoid being a speed blocker. We have a highly mobile, geographically diverse work environment and currently we look after more than 20 offices of varying sizes.

The teams that support all this are called User Technology (UT). UT comprises autonomous teams that build and maintain everything needed to support our company mission. These teams include device management, conferences and events, network infrastructure, service management and user access management organized into various engineering and support functions. We already have an amazingly dedicated and talented team of 60+ technicians and engineer Wisers.

You’ll be working in a smaller group, in a global team. Most of our work is done locally in the Austin office, but you’ll also be supporting our other locations in the Americas, located in Tampa, New York, Mexico City, and São Paulo, Brazil. We also give support to co-workers who are traveling or working from anywhere outside of the office. 


A bit about the job:

  • Provide exceptional technical support to Wisers, offering assistance with a variety of IT-related issues.

  • Efficiently manage the procurement, assets, and inventory of laptops, monitors, printers, and other peripheral tech accessories.

  • Proactively identify and recommend potential areas for improvement, contributing to the enhancement of overall operational efficiency.

  • Become the go-to resource, functioning as an encyclopedia on Wise’s IT products and services.

  • Diagnose and resolve computer hardware and software issues through effective troubleshooting and repair techniques.

  • Educate users and colleagues on tools, technology, and security measures within the Wise framework.

  • Oversee the provisioning and deprovisioning of devices, ensuring seamless management of IT resources.

  • Collaborate with other teams in UT, providing valuable assistance and fostering a cohesive working environment.

  • Actively participate in internal projects dedicated to continuous improvement initiatives.

A bit about you:

  • Demonstrate a proven track record of providing IT support in Windows and/or Mac OS environments.

  • Possess a natural inclination to help people and solve problems, coupled with assertive communication skills.

  • Display flexibility and a keen willingness to learn in a dynamic IT environment.

  • Identify pain points and drive improvement initiatives to successful completion.

  • Exhibit a great sense of humor and the ability to thrive in high-pressure situations.

  • Show a passion for computing and a dedication to enhancing user experience.

  • Comfortably switch between independent work and collaborative teamwork as dictated by the situation.

  • Showcase a knack for researching solutions and staying abreast of the latest technology trends.

  • Hold legal authorization to work in the US; unfortunately, we cannot support Visas for this role.

  • Note that this is a Hybrid position based in Austin, Texas, and not a remote role.
