Job Description

We’re looking for Payment Operations Risk & Controls Global Team Lead to join our growing team in the Tallinn office.

Your mission:

Your mission is to develop a strong Payment Operations Risk & Controls team and to support specialists with their personal growth.
You’ll drive risk mitigation efforts within the Payment Operations and across the company. Your focus will be on global risks and controls within Payment Operations and you’ll drive alignment and adherence to our internal policies and controls across all regions.

Here’s how you’ll add value to the team:

  • Leading the Global R&C team - You’ll be leading a group of R&C specialists to ensure excellent support to PayOps organisation on risk and controls related topics. You’ll set targets for yourself and the team based on the larger objectives of PayOps R&C;
  • Developing Wisers - You’ll scale culture and help to create a positive and motivating work environment for our Wisers. You’ll ensure the health and productivity of the specialists within your teams by helping to set the right culture and implement the right approaches;
  • Guaranteeing process documentation within own area and ensuring that all relevant documentation is kept up to date;
  • Ensuring the team’s readiness to handle unexpected situations and fluctuations in the workload. Cultivating a culture of agility and flexibility to be ready for the changing workload;
  • You are responsible for driving risk awareness across PayOps and for ensuring alignment across different regions;
  • You’ll collaborate with various other teams across Wise, including Risk, Compliance, Finance;
  • You’ll oversee various risk mitigation projects and efforts and are responsible for ensuring their timely completion;

Qualifications

  • You're placed in Tallinn, Estonia and are eligible to work in Estonia.
  • You have at least 2 years of recent leadership experience or excellent risk and controls knowledge. Audit or controlling background is a bonus.
  • You’re data-driven, able to prioritise the value add, measure the impact and have a proven track record of moving metrics and reaching your KPI goals.
  • You are experienced in project management and are accountable for delivery of projects in your team’s scope.
  • You’re a great communicator with excellent written and verbal English skills. You’ll quickly pick up on how best to communicate effectively across different audiences, and when either giving or receiving feedback.
  • You can explain problems clearly and include others in the team to discuss solutions. You’re able to persuade others and you aren’t afraid to challenge something when you need to.
  • You have experience in working across different teams, from operational, product development to external partners, and you're comfortable taking responsibility in challenging situations.
  • You enjoy creating an inspiring team environment where ideas are shared and openness is valued. You’re comfortable and composed when either giving or receiving feedback.
  • Your curiosity has no limit and this is your guiding light. You have the self-awareness to recognise areas you don’t know and the humility to learn.
